Is February a health Month? February is American Heart Month, a time when all people can focus on their cardiovascular health. The Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention is shining a light on hypertension (high blood pressure), a leading risk factor for heart disease and stroke.
Is February Women’s health Month? NCCC recognizes each May as Women’s Health Month. It officially kicks off this year on May 10 with National Women’s Health Week, an annual observance led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health.
When did February become Heart Health Month? In acknowledgement of the importance of the ongoing fight against cardiovascular disease, the Congress, by Joint Resolution approved December 30, 1963, as amended (36 U.S.C. 101), has requested that the President issue an annual proclamation designating February as “American Heart Month.”
